If you've ever been really hungry and thirsty, but didn't have the cash to support it, here's a trick that's definitely not recommended. Two schoolkids thought it would be a good idea to hide inside a Sainsbury's once the doors had closed to splurge on all the goodies inside.

The 12- and 13-year-olds concealed themselves in the clothing section and waited for the store in East Kilbride, Scotland to close. Luckily for them, this supermarket didn't have any security after 10pm, and the only people who were still working there didn't notice them.

But they didn't waste any time getting into everything that a Sainsbury's can offer. They reportedly ate £300 ($386) worth of food and booze over four hours, before a night worker eventually found them.

A source told the Daily Record: "It was the early hours in the morning when they were discovered by one of the night workers down an aisle.

"The two boys had worked their way through hundreds of pounds worth of food and alcohol and helped themselves to various other products before being discovered.

"A few night workers are mostly working in the same area as a small group rather than being spread around, hence why it took so long to discover the boys."

It's understood that the items stolen include a £35 ($45) camera and two memory sticks.

Sainsbury's has admitted the incident took place and is participating with police in their investigation. The plot was reminiscent of - but not as sinister as - the web craze which popped up last year called the Fort Challenge.

It encouraged people to hide away at superstores and see how long they can last without getting caught. Pranksters would nestle themselves between shelves or go behind products and wait for the shutter doors to open up the next morning.

One clip, belonging to Meet The Vloggers, racked up more than three million views. The London trio wanted to stake out Toys R Us, because why wouldn't you want to spend a night in every kid's playhouse?

But one of the members, Kel, quickly realised that you should probably prepare for this sort of challenge. He hid on a shelf behind a bunch of dolls, but soon found himself uncomfortable, hungry and needing to go to the bathroom.

In the video, he said: "This is the stupidest thing I've ever done. I can't believe I've done this. I've been in this same position for the last few hours. I feel like I've got something wrong with my back.

"I'm going to get in so much trouble when I get out of here. I did this all wrong. I should have brought food I should have brought a pillow."

Eventually his problems came to an end when the lights went on just after 8am.

I guess, in theory, having a place like Toys R Us to yourself for an entire night would be epic, but in reality you'd be caught in seconds if you actually played with any of the stuff inside.
